The Great Tommy is working a long dinner shift tonight on the Vegas strip, but it’s 2019 so he can throw a bet in while taking a quick cig break. I’ll be staying up late to follow the total in the Portland/OKC game out here on the East Coast from my couch. Nights like tonight are why gambling can be so much fun. If you hit a few early games, being emotionally invested into that 10:30 tip makes every part of your Friday night even better. There’s also nothing like having a legit reason to scream at my TV at 1 o’clock in the morning. So here are The Great Tommy’s picks. All-NBA parlay tonight. He had a little OT on his paycheck last week so why not chase down a lottery ticket? $60 on a five-team bet to win $1,461.54.
The Jazz are sitting at 18-20 and desperately need to start turning their season around. Tonight is a good night to do it. This Cleveland Cavaliers squad is putrid and the Jazz were a five seed in the West last year who almost won 50 games. If Donovan Mitchell and company have playoff hopes, tonight is the night to show it.
Wizards/Heat over 214.5
No defense from anyone tonight in Miami. This total is at least 10 points too low.
Shocker of the night aka parlay killer to every clown who has the Pacers attached to their parlay. Bulls absolutely cover and the game comes down to the last minute. Would not be shocked to see the Bulls win on the money line.
Atlanta has zero defense and Milwaukee has a 7-foot version of Klay Thompson. The Bucks haven’t played since New Year’s Day when they blew out Detroit at home by 23. The boys in Vegas couldn’t make this line high enough without looking crazy. Should be Bucks -24. The best team in the Eastern Conference with the best player in the NBA continues to dominate.
Thunder/Blazers over 223.5
Prime time game on ESPN. With the crowd jacked up for Russell Westbrook and all the cameras expect a fast tempo from the start. Damian Lillard might drop 40.
